LumiScale Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 4, 2026
Last updated: September 15, 2026

Welcome to LumiScale (the “App”), a photography light-metering tool.

We value your privacy. This policy explains how the App accesses, processes, stores, and protects information relating to users, as well as how you can manage the relevant permissions and data. Please read this policy carefully before using the App.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the LumiScale iOS App and the support website at lumiscale.0xf.tech.

This policy does not apply to products and services independently provided by Apple or other third parties. Third parties process information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

2. How the Developer Processes Information

The App does not require registration or login. Under the current feature design, the Developer uses Supabase for the online catalog and support submissions, and Cloudflare Pages for website hosting, does not use advertising or analytics SDKs, and will not sell your information to any third party.

The App processes the following information only to the extent necessary to provide its features:

2.1 Camera Feed and Camera Parameters

The App does not read your system photo library and does not automatically write captured photos to the system photo library.

2.2 Saved Photos and Metering Records

When you actively tap “Save Photo,” the App creates a metering record locally on your device. The record may include:

The information above is used to display and manage your metering history. By default, it is stored only in the App’s local storage and is not uploaded to the Developer’s servers.

Please note that photos may contain people, homes, identification documents, or other personal information. Before photographing and saving information about others, make sure you have obtained any necessary authorization, and avoid recording unnecessary sensitive content.

2.3 Location Information

We process precise location only as necessary to label the place where a photo was captured. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or tracking.

2.4 LiDAR Depth Information

On devices that support LiDAR, you may actively enable the LiDAR distance-measurement feature. The App reads the camera depth stream and calculates the distance near the metering point. Depth data and distance readings are used only for immediate display. In the current version, they are not written to metering records or uploaded to the Developer’s servers. The LiDAR feature depends on camera permission, which you can disable at any time.

2.5 Information You Set or Enter

To retain your usage preferences, the App stores the following information locally on your device:

This information is used only to restore settings, perform exposure calculations, and manage records.

2.6 Information the App Does Not Actively Collect

Under the current implementation, we do not actively process or collect:

2.7 Online Catalog and Support Website

The App retrieves the public film catalog and development processes from Supabase. Catalog requests do not upload local photos, metering records, or custom processes. Network providers process IP addresses and request metadata needed to serve these requests.

When you submit a support request, we collect its category, title, description, optional email and device/system/App version, submission time, and request ID, solely to investigate and reply. Do not include passwords or unnecessary sensitive information. Submissions pass through Cloudflare Pages and are stored in our Supabase project in Singapore. They are not displayed publicly.

For abuse prevention, the server transforms the request IP into a daily changing, non-reversible identifier to limit submissions. The feedback table does not store raw IP addresses. Cloudflare and Supabase may process network metadata within their infrastructure. The website uses no advertising, behavioral analytics, or tracking cookies.

Feedback is retained for handling the issue and necessary follow-up. Contact us with your request ID to request access, correction, or deletion.

3. System Permissions

System permission Purpose Required? How to disable
Camera Live view, metering, capturing and saving metering photos, and LiDAR distance measurement Required for camera-related features iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera > LumiScale
Location While Using the App Add coordinates and place names to saved metering records Optional iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > LumiScale

After you disable a permission, the App will stop obtaining new data through the corresponding system interface. Disabling a permission does not automatically delete photos or metering records saved previously.

4. Sharing, Transfer, and Public Disclosure of Information

4.1 Sharing

Except in the following circumstances, the Developer will not share your personal information with third parties:

4.2 Transfer

The Developer will not transfer your personal information. If a change in operating entity, transfer of assets, or similar event involves personal information, the Developer will notify you of the recipient’s information as required by law and require the recipient to remain bound by this policy. If the purpose or method of processing changes, the Developer will obtain your consent again as required by law.

4.3 Public Disclosure

The Developer will not publicly disclose your personal information unless separate consent has been obtained as required by law or otherwise permitted by applicable laws and regulations.

5. Storage and Retention

5.1 Storage Location

The App’s settings, metering records, location labels, and photos are stored by default on your iOS device. The App currently does not upload this data to servers operated by the Developer.

Depending on your iOS and Apple Account backup settings, the App’s local data may be included in a device backup or iCloud backup. These backups are provided and managed by Apple under its terms and privacy policy. You can manage the relevant backups in your system settings.

5.2 Retention Period

If data has been included in a device backup or iCloud backup managed by Apple, its deletion and retention period may depend on your backup settings and Apple’s rules.

6. How You Can Manage Information and Exercise Your Rights

You can manage information in the App in the following ways:

Because local App records are not synchronized to the Developer’s server, the Developer generally cannot remotely identify, read, export, or delete data on your device. If you cannot exercise your rights through the methods above, please contact the Developer. The Developer will process your request after verifying it and within the period required by applicable law.

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out on the basis of consent before withdrawal. If a permission is disabled, basic features unrelated to that permission may continue to be available.

7. Information Security

The Developer takes protective measures appropriate to the current form of the product, including relying on the iOS app sandbox and system data-protection mechanisms to limit data access to what is necessary to provide the features and to avoid introducing unnecessary advertising, analytics, and tracking components.

However, no storage method can guarantee absolute security. Please protect your device and passcode, and install system security updates promptly. If you discover a potential information-security issue relating to the App, please contact us using the information in Section 11 of this policy.

8. Protection of Minors

The App is intended for general photography-tool users and is not primarily directed at minors under the age of 14. The App does not actively identify or collect users’ ages.

If you are a minor under the age of 14, you should read this policy under the guidance of a parent or other guardian and obtain the guardian’s consent before using features that may involve the processing of personal information. If a guardian believes that the information of a minor in their care has been processed improperly, they may contact us using the information in Section 11 of this policy.

9. Cross-Border Processing

Local photos and metering records are not uploaded with catalog requests. Support information you voluntarily submit passes through Cloudflare’s global network and is stored in our Supabase project in Singapore. This may involve international processing. The form explains this and requires your confirmation before submission. Refer to Apple’s privacy policy for its system services.

10. Updates to This Policy

The Developer may update this policy due to changes in features, technology, laws and regulations, or operating practices. For general changes, the Developer will provide notice by updating this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change may materially affect your rights and interests relating to personal information, the Developer will provide separate notice through an in-app notice, system alert, or other prominent method, and will obtain your consent again when required by law.

Without your consent, the Developer will not reduce the rights you are entitled to under this policy.

11. Contact Us

Contact email: [email protected]

If you have any questions, comments, complaints, or requests concerning this policy, the App’s privacy practices, or your personal-information rights, please contact the Developer using the email address above. The Developer will respond within the period required by applicable law after receiving and verifying your request.
